Number traps and exercise misconceptions: Partial weight loss is possible

(v) The irrationality of the calorie calculation method

As mentioned earlier, this method can lead to nutritional imbalances, so I strongly oppose this method that harms health.

Since establishing the Wada Weight Loss Research Lab, we have mentored 860 people, enabling each of them to successfully lose weight easily while maintaining a healthy body. This is completely different from the method of desperately enduring hunger.

Let me state upfront that as long as we accept normal physiological phenomena, there's no need to painstakingly calculate calories; that's the job of nutrition experts. Those experts rack their brains trying to design "the fewest calories to provide enough of the ideal components needed," but that's all just theoretical and meaningless.

Currently, medicine isn't as advanced as we'd hoped for when it comes to weight loss. I remember when the Wada diet was first introduced, a university professor, after studying my theory, said: "It's truly remarkable, but it's impossible to eat your fill and still lose weight. People gain weight because their food contains too many calories; to lose weight, you naturally need to reduce calories."

I don't know what the professor said about the later success of spreading the Wada family's ideas among the public.

(vi) Don't fall into the trap of numbers

All weight loss methods and conclusions based on the calorie theory are incorrect.

One of the conclusions was: "Weight loss in a month should be limited to one kilogram; losing more than that is harmful to the body."

However, according to Mr. Wada's weight loss method: "As long as it does not violate one's own physiological condition, one can lose 750 to 1500 grams in a week. If it is less than 750 grams, it is either because one's physical condition is too poor or the method used is incorrect." What is the difference between these two? I believe you all know.

However, if the calories you consume are not used to maintain your health, and you want to lose 750 to 1500 grams, it will certainly have a serious impact on your health.

Of course, by adopting a reasonable weight loss method, consuming an appropriate amount of calories according to one's physical condition, and actively engaging in exercises to reduce excess fat, one can definitely achieve a healthy and beautiful figure.

Compared to the Wada diet, the calorie calculation method clearly ignores daily life conditions and is simply playing a numbers game.

(vii) Differences in calorie counting and exercise

A proponent of the calorie counting method once said: "Exercise is indeed good, but it's just gymnastics for beauty purposes; it's impossible to lose weight through exercise."

These people believe that "the calories that can be burned are those used for basal metabolism and those burned during exercise." Therefore, exercising to increase calorie expenditure is ineffective unless you can do it for 4-5 hours a day. Indeed, if you continue jogging for 30 minutes and burn 500 calories, that's only 58 grams of body fat.

If you think of exercise as just about burning calories, it's no wonder you fall into this trap. But is exercise really just that? Of course not. Everyone knows that exercise affects all aspects of work, diet, and life.

If you can view exercises like aerobics as creating a certain level of stress on the body, it can be somewhat beneficial for weight loss. Even if the exercise time is short and the calories burned are limited, this small amount of exercise can still stimulate metabolism in the body's tissues. Most obviously, isn't sweating during exercise a normal form of excretion?

(8) Lose weight in the part you want to lose weight in.

Another point that puzzles calorie believers is: "How can one achieve partial weight loss?" They might retort: "How can something so perfectly easy be possible?"

However, it does exist! I can give some examples.

If you can lose weight by controlling your diet solely through calorie counting without exercise, I don't consider that a successful weight loss method. That could cause muscles and internal organs to "waste" due to insufficient nutrition, which is actually just "emaciated" and an unhealthy approach.

For women, a figure that is both full-figured and slender is desirable. If a woman is not full enough when she should be, or not slender enough when she should be, then she is not in her ideal position.

Therefore, to maintain this figure, eating in moderation and ensuring sufficient nutrition are crucial. After the food is fully absorbed by the body, wait until your stomach is empty and you feel hungry before starting gymnastics.

At this stage, the gymnastics should be done once a week for 6 minutes each time.

This will seem unbelievable to calorie-obsessed people. Indeed, such minimal exercise is possible. By focusing your workouts on the areas you want to lose weight, and using subcutaneous fat as building material before developing toned muscles, you don't need to count calories or do strenuous exercise.

Isn't this an ideal way to lose weight?
